Overview
Here at Blueprint Recruitment, we are looking for a skilled Cost Consultant to join a leading engineering consultancy, on a contract basis, outside IR35. You will work on a hybrid basis from our client\’s office, 3 days a week, located in Durham, on a variety of water sector projects, including Northumbrian water projects, as part of a highly experienced commercial team.
Salary: Competitive day rate £300-£350 (depending on experience). Hybrid working arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial delivery of clean water, wastewater, and gas infrastructure projects across all project stages, ensuring alignment with AMP8 objectives.
- Manage all commercial aspects of NEC3/4 contracts, including valuations, compensation events, and contractual obligations.
- Represent the company in client-facing commercial reviews, maintaining strong relationships and protecting contractual interests.
- Provide expert commercial guidance across assigned frameworks, ensuring efficient, gain-focused delivery in line with client and customer expectations.
- Draft and respond to commercial correspondence within contractual timeframes.
- Support the Infrastructure Director in driving commercial growth across key frameworks.
What We Are Looking For
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years\’ experience in a cost consultancy or commercial management environment.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes and standard forms of contract, particularly NEC and JCT.
- Proficient in cost management software and confident using MS Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- RICS membership (or actively working towards chartership) is preferred.
