An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Estimator with building services experience to join a growing engineering team based in London. This role will involve preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of mechanical building services projects, supporting bids across sectors such as rail, aviation and energy infrastructure.
The successful Mechanical Estimator will play a key role in managing the full estimating process, from initial tender enquiry (ITT) through to final submission, ensuring all bids are commercially competitive and technically robust.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing accurate mechanical building services cost estimates
- Managing tenders from ITT through to final submission
- Reviewing project specifications, drawings and tender documentation
- Building cost estimates considering labour, materials, plant and logistics
- Assessing commercial risks and opportunities within bids
- Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and pricing strategies
- Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders throughout the bid process
- Producing detailed cost breakdowns and commercial reports
- Supporting both mechanical and electrical elements of project bids
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Estimator within building services
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical installations
- Experience preparing tenders and cost estimates for building services projects
- Ability to manage bids from initial enquiry through to completion
- Strong commercial awareness and risk assessment skills
- Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience working within rail, aviation or energy infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
