From hydrogen and alternative fuels to high-pressure gas releases, fire and explosion hazards, pipeline integrity, and critical infrastructure protection, the work undertaken here influences engineering practice, supports major investment decisions, and helps improve safety worldwide.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit both Engineers and Senior Engineers to join our Major Hazards Research & Development team.
While many engineering careers focus on applying existing knowledge, this role offers the opportunity to help create it.
Our teams develop bespoke experimental facilities and deliver world-leading research programmes designed to answer questions that cannot be resolved through standards, guidance documents, modelling, or simulation alone. We generate the evidence that enables organisations to make informed decisions with confidence.
Our work addresses some of the most significant challenges facing the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. Projects may involve:
- Hydrogen and alternative fuel safety
- High-pressure gas release research
- Full-scale fire and explosion testing
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Industrial process safety
- Emerging energy technologies
- Energy security and infrastructure protection
- Defence and national resilience programmes
You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept development and engineering design through construction, commissioning, testing, and operational delivery.
