An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Engineer specialising in drainage and water design to support the delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role will involve working within a multidisciplinary design team, delivering complex drainage, flood risk and water management designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and sustainable design principles.

The successful Civil Engineer will contribute to the development of technical design solutions, engineering calculations and detailed drawings, while coordinating design activities across multiple engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering drainage and water management design solutions
  • Producing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports
  • Developing designs for drainage systems, flood risk mitigation and SuDS
  • Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, regulations and best practice
  • Leading technically challenging aspects of drainage and civil engineering design
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
  • Identifying and resolving design integration and constructability issues
  • Assessing and managing technical design risks
  • Conducting site visits, inspections and technical investigations
  • Supporting the delivery of sustainable and technically robust engineering solutions

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Civil Engineer within infrastructure or civil engineering projects
  • Strong experience in drainage design, SuDS and flood risk management
  • Experience producing engineering calculations, reports and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of drainage modelling and water management systems
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Experience working on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects would be advantageous.
