This role will see you working from site offices on the south west outskirts of Bristol, as an extension of the Bath-based structural engineering team who deliver a diverse portfolio of projects in the UK and around the world. The ideal candidate will be at the Senior Engineer level or above, with experience across a wide variety of projects and sectors.

Your next role:
- The role of Structural Site Engineer can be very varied, duties will include but are not limited to:
- Working independently and as part of a team, including mentoring of more junior staff.
- Produce reports, and presentations to an excellent standard, on time and to budget.
- Share and disseminate your work among the site team and the office-based design team.
- Presenting your designs at internal workshops and chairing external meetings with other project stakeholders when required.
- Leading the structural site team by planning ahead, making timely decisions and corrective action whilst creating an atmosphere that delivers excellent work.
- Collaborating with the office-based structural team, the site-based teams for other Buro Happold disciplines, the Contractor teams and the wider project stakeholder team.
- Reinforcing communication of the structural design intent to the Contractor and the project team.
- Recording and communicating observations of structural site works as they progress.
- Recording and communicating variations to the designed structure and coordinating approval and/or corrective solutions with the office-based structural team.
Your skills & experience:
- Extensive experience as a site-based Engineer, Resident Engineer or Clerk of Works.
- Building structures design experience.
- Experience as a Structural Engineer on major projects.
- Broad design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects and using British and European codes of practice.
- Be a Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE with the Engineering Council UK or equivalent body.
- A Bachelor's degree BEng / BSc or Master's degree MEng / MSc in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to provide pastoral care to more junior team members as a line manager, alongside a willingness to be an active part of an inclusive and fun-filled team, respecting others and supporting your colleagues.
