Our client is continually growing as an internationally recognized leader in fabricated steel and pipe work for the offshore oil & gas sector, alongside expansion within the marine and renewable industries supporting the energy transition in the UK and worldwide. They are looking for an Estimator / Buyer with 10 years’ experience, ideally within Fabrication. The role will be based in Aberdeen.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Prepare pricing estimates, including developing a take-off of all material and labour required for the project. This take-off will be combined with outside vendor pricing to produce a complete project cost estimate.
- Work with outside vendors to request and receive project-specific pricing to meet firm deadlines.
- Coordinate with operations and outside vendors on how the job is to be built in both our shop and in the field.
- Coordinate with the customer to help ensure we are providing a complete package with a thorough understanding of the project schedule and project-specific requirements.
- Assisting the management team with other duties when required.
Physical Requirements:
- Work will be performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally visits to sites. Position requires long durations committed to independent reading and computation. Strong concentration skills necessary.
Required Skills:
- An understanding of structural fabrication processes.
