BlueOak Care Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Watford, Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable manager with strong Ofsted knowledge, safeguarding experience, and a passion for achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a child‑centred staff team
- Managing Ofsted registration, compliance, and inspections
- Ensuring high standards of safeguarding and child protection
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, and outcomes
- Managing staffing, rotas, resources, and budgets
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, families, and professionals
- Supporting occupancy, placement stability, and service growth
Applicants must have:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- 2–3 years’ managerial experience in children’s residential care
- Experience attending an Ofsted interview or inspection
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations
- Experience supporting young people with Autism, LD, complex needs, or EBD
- Strong safeguarding, leadership, and compliance experience
- Ability to manage up to 2 homes as the role progresses
- Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one
