We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Project Management Team in Kent. A key role in driving success as you lead and manage the delivery of projects in line with organisational strategies and objectives. This role is integral to the successful delivery of Bluelight's technology and services projects and is accountable to the Bluelight's Head of Projects for successful delivery of their assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The coordination and completion of Bluelight CRM, Web and Portal projects and change engagements to time, within budget and within scope.
  • Plan projects in detail to ensure high quality delivery, including resource levelling, internal and external dependencies, accommodating change control and assessing project limitations.
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarise progress of projects and change to senior team members.
  • Deliver projects which are underpinned by an understanding of, and commitment to good PM practices.
  • Work within established processes to administrate and actively manage all project actions, issues, risks, defect resolution and customer relationships at project level, including escalating effectively to the Delivery Director where appropriate.
  • Work closely with Bluelight customers and stakeholders at all levels to ensure a positive working and productive relationship.
  • Work with Bluelight Technical, Delivery and Product teams ensuring all team members are able to carry out planned work and clearing any obstacles hindering progress.
  • Feed into External Project Board meetings by reporting on Progress, Upcoming Actions, Risks & Mitigation and Issues.
  • Liaise with the customer to set expectations for key phases of the project using the framework documents to clarify roles and responsibilities as well as tasks.
  • Oversee delivery of key phases of the project (UAT, Data Migration, Training) by monitoring project progress, task completion, risk mitigation and issue resolution actions.
  • Utilise the following mechanisms as appropriate to facilitate this:
  • Weekly Meetings included but not limited to: Internal Team Meetings, Third Party Provider Meetings, Internal Project Board Meetings and External PM Meetings to review progress of previous week, review actions for upcoming week, seek answers to questions, discuss blockers, issues and risks & mitigations, devise follow-up action lists and monitor progress.
  • Azure DevOps (Bugs and User Stories) to review progress of previous week picking up work not actioned, review progress of upcoming week, checking effort assigned is aligned to expected outcomes, ensure Consultancy team are keeping iteration paths and tags up to date.
  • Daily Check-ins (as necessary) to request updates on previous actions, review plan for the day for each project Team member, discuss and prioritise any resource scheduling issues.
  • Monitor actual v projected costs, using the data to inform decisions on project variations.
  • Produce documentation as required to support the entire project lifecycle.
  • Framework documents detailing the activities, deadlines and details for key phases of the project (including UAT, Data Migration, Go Live).
  • Project reporting (including RAG reports, reports for Project Board, agendas and actions for internal and external Project Meetings).
  • Slide decks for project presentations (UAT Handover, Internal Kick Off, External Kick Off).
  • Play an active role as directed by the Head of Projects or Senior Project Manager in developing and improving the PMO processes / documentation / client interactions.
  • Contribute as directed by the Head of Projects or Delivery Director to the development and improvement of the Bluelight business, for example representing the PMO at sales pitches and user groups.
  • About You:
    • Solid experience in IT Project Management.
    • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail.
    • Prince 2 Project Management, APM Practitioner or equivalent.
