Blueleaf are currently looking to recruit a multi drop Delivery Driver (7.5T) to join our team in our distribution centre in Crawley, West Sussex.

As the face of the company, the ideal candidate will have the preparedness to get the job done with positivity and have a passion for delivering quality service to our happy customers. The role will also involve assisting in warehouse duties as and when required. This is a permanent full time role, working 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Typical working hours are from 05:00am to 2:00pm. Immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Keep accurate records of deliveries and customer authorisation and ensure all documentation is submitted to management on time.
  • All deliveries made using mobile link system for EPOD (electronic POD).
  • Properly use and maintain all delivery equipment.
  • May have to lift heavy products or parcels.
  • Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Keep company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained, and fit for safe driving standards in every way.
  • Carry out pre and post driving vehicle checks.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory breaks and other tacho rules.
  • Follow pre-planned route accurately without deviation from set course unless authorised by line manager or planners.
  • Communicate with customers by phone to update them of time of deliveries if there have been issues or changes to their estimated time of arrival.
  • Maintain communication with management to be informed of any issues or change of delivery, route or schedule.
  • Inform management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time.
  • Ensure all customer orders and collection notes are recorded and monitored.
  • Ensure the correct procedures are used for all customer delivery/collection discrepancies i.e. shortages/overs not delivered etc., and the relevant department contacts advised.
  • Operate in a safe manner complying with all health and safety and environmental regulations to ensure safety of own and others wearing the safety equipment provided by the company.
  • Ensure all customer orders are picked, packed, checked, then despatched by either courier or loaded on delivery vehicles for despatch in a timely manner to required standards with appropriate paperwork completed.
  • Assist on ‘goods in’ and the replenishment of pick faces ensuring all goods are stored in the appropriate location.
  • Maintain a safe working environment to aid operational efficiency ensuring the warehouse and yard are kept clean and tidy at all times, that spillages are promptly cleared, and waste minimised.
  • All delivery drivers are expected to work in the warehouse when required and perform general warehouse duties.
  • Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value.
Experience and Qualities:
  • Full 7.5T driving licence (C1), with no more than 3 penalty points on licence.
  • Driver CPC qualification.
  • Digital tachograph card.
  • Previous Warehouse delivery experience.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in quality of work and information.
  • Teamwork, willing to participate as a full member of the team.
  • Passion for delivering quality service and always making customers happy.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse picking, checking, loading, dispatch processes.
  • Good understanding of road network and geography.

What will we offer?

We will offer a salary of £34,824.00 per annum, with paid breaks, and 33 days holiday inclusive of bank and public holidays.
