Warehouse Team Leader
Blueleaf are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Team Leader at our Crawley depot in West Sussex. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership qualities to enable them to lead a team of warehouse operatives safely and efficiently to ensure tasks are completed effectively including ensuring all goods are received accurately and are correctly stored. If you have experience of leading a team in a warehousing environment and are willing to fix problems that occasionally arise, as well as being a great team-player, then this role could be for you. This is a permanent full time role, working 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Typical working hours will be from 1pm to 10pm. Immediate start available.
Day to day responsibilities
- Live and promote Blueleaf\βs Culture and Values
- Manage the Shift team to ensure all goods are received in and correctly stored, and that all orders are picked, checked and loaded accurately to meet the required van departure times.
- Monitor the activities of the shift to ensure quality work and productive use of resources.
- Print any emergency (missed) sales orders after the cut off time as required or arrange different date with Customer Services.
- Conduct and record physical stock-takes as requested.
- Provide a daily accurate handover report.
- Resolve day to day operational issues/problems β service.
- Regularly review the performance of the team and develop the team through cross training and coaching including PDRs.
- Ensure all staff wear safety equipment and work in a safe manner complying with all health and safety, training and environmental regulations.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment (warehouse/office) to ensure operational efficiency.
- Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value.
- Oversee critical ops report for missed shipments/unplanned orders and report to Customer Services as required.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Support Warehouse Supervisor in daily functions and suggest solutions to problems.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, Transport Supervisor and Depot Manager to ensure all Blueleaf values are demonstrated.
- Ensure staff are rotated to roles where necessary to support the business, but also to ensure multiskilling of all operatives to offer resilience to the team.
- Multi-functional support in all areas of the business to support with volume and absence including holiday cover for alternate shift team leader.
- Occasionally there may be the need to work from other warehouses within the company due to business need and customer demand, appropriate notice will be given.
- Safe and secure opening up of or locking up of the site.
- Responsible for the safety of others and ensuring all H&S procedures are followed.
Skills & Experience
- Proven work experience of a team leader/Supervisor for a warehousing team
- Teamwork skills and willing to participate as a full member of the team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good analytical and reasoning skills
- Knowledge in health and safety, manual handling and hazardous substances
- Ideally previous experience in the use of counterbalance and high reach forklift trucks, and powered pallet truck equipment, and holding a forklift truck licence
- Full driving licence
What will we offer?
We will offer a salary of Β£33,924 per annum with paid breaks, and 33 days holiday including bank and public holidays.
