Epitaxy Engineer – Process Engineer – County Durham – Newton Aycliffe – Up to £57,000

Bluegate are proud to partner with British owned Semiconductor designer and manufacturer with a history going back more than 25 years.
Our client is recruiting for Epitaxy specialist who has ideally worked with compound semiconductors.
You will be supporting the growth of GaAs-based products using an MBE tool, while contributing to the development of new GaN-based technologies.
Key Responsibilities
– Epitaxial growth of GaAs-based products
– Active participation in the development and future production of GaN-based products.
– Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation.
– Developing in-depth competence in MBE and MOCVD growth and structure characterisation.
– Conducting materials characterisation activities including:
X-ray diffraction (XRD)
Hall measurements
Photoluminescence (PL)
Electrochemical CV (ECV)
Resistivity measurements
Surface defectivity assessments
Experience and Qualifications
A degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline
Significant post-graduate experience in a semiconductor material growth role.
Knowledge of MBE and/or MOCVD growth operations
Practical experience in III-V epitaxial growth
Experience with GaAs pHEMTs and GaN HEMTs is highly desirable
Proficiency with SPC and DOE techniques
