The HR Business Partner position is in Luton and reports to the Head of HR. This role is diverse and hands-on, providing support across various areas including recruitment, employee engagement, labour relations, internal communications, compensation and benefits, employee wellbeing, and training. The HR Business Partner plays a crucial role in implementing organisational development initiatives that promote the company’s culture. Additionally, it ensures that HR policies and procedures are properly governed and aligned with business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
- Lead apprenticeship and early careers programs, including outreach and support.
- Coordinate recruitment, manage assessment processes, and communicate with candidates/agencies.
- Support organisational change and consultation processes.
- Act as a trusted advisor on HR matters to employees and managers.
- Manage HR administration and documentation per company policies.
- Assist with payroll in collaboration with Finance.
- Collaborate with line managers to provide proactive HR support.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Analyse training needs and aid development initiatives.
- Maintain HR metrics and support KPIs.
- Liaise with Trade Union representatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
Requirements:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
- Generalist HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of UK employment legislation.
- Proven experience in employee relations.
- Interest in apprenticeships and early careers.
- Ability to support organisational change.
- Experience with trade unions is a plus.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
