  • Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate, collaborative, and experienced attorney to join our dynamic legal team in the Privacy and Information Security group.

The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel/DPO, Privacy and Legal Information Security and focuses on providing legal advice to support Comcast Cable’s global privacy and information security program.

The incumbent will deliver thought leadership, influence business strategy and manage risk in all privacy and security matters.

  • Core Responsibilities
  • Independently handle privacy and information security matters and inquiries across the company, providing timely, accurate, and actionable advice to support compliance with policies, standards, laws and best practices.
  • Lead the evaluation of Comcast programs and initiatives to ensure they meet applicable privacy and security requirements.
  • Work closely with enterprise and business unit stakeholders to embed privacy and security principles into business plans and strategic initiatives during design and execution.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and implementing policies, processes, data inventories, and records of processing relating to personal data.
  • Review company practices to ensure consistency with existing policies and internal governance documents.
  • Lead Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments for new businesses and initiatives involving personal data processing.
  • Monitor, summarize and implement requirements driven by developments in privacy and security laws, regulations, standards and best practices in the UK, EU and other jurisdictions (e. g., GDPR, e Privacy Directive, NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act, DAA, NAI).
  • Provide practical, proactive legal counsel on privacy and security issues, including data governance, retention, minimization, incident response and coordination with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead and advise on post‑acquisition privacy and security integration for newly acquired entities.
  • Conduct awareness and training to increase employee understanding of privacy policies, data handling and security practices.
  • Support the work of the Data Protection Officer.
  • Execute duties consistent with strategic plans and directives as determined by leadership.
  • Drive results and growth and support an inclusive culture in all activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years combined legal experience with at least 3 years focused on privacy and information security.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of European and UK privacy and security legislation, including GDPR, e Privacy Directive, NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act.
  • Preferable experience with additional global privacy and security laws and operating within a global privacy framework.
  • Demonstrated transactional experience, including drafting and negotiating privacy and data protection agreements and related contracts.
  • Experience in conducting privacy impact assessments and advising on applicable legal requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal, regulatory and technical requirements and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Strong project‑management skills, able to lead multiple initiatives and meet deadlines with high quality results.
  • Self‑contained, able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Reliability, consistency and punctuality in attendance.
  • Pragmatic, risk‑based mindset and collaborative working style.
  • Strong academic credentials; a recognised privacy or cyber security qualification such as CIPP/E is preferred.
  • Experience with privacy management platforms and familiarity with productivity tools such as Copilot and Harvey is advantageous.
