Location: Phasels Wood Activity Centre, Kings Langley or Tolmers Activity Centre, Cuffley

Salary: £27,000 - £33,321 per year depending on experience

Benefits:

  • 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays unless asked to work and Christmas office closure)

Contract type & Hours:

  • 12 month contract (option to extend)
  • 2080 hours/year
  • Hours will be flexible to meet job needs, may include weekends and evenings; on average 40 hours a week

Location Details: Starting location will be either Phasels Wood Activity Centre, Kings Langley or Tolmers Activity Centre, Cuffley. Must be able to get yourself to either site. You may be asked to work across all four Hertfordshire sites during the day, including Harmergreen Wood and Well End Activity Centres, so willingness to travel between sites is required (full driving licence required).

Planned Start Date: February 2026

Role Purpose & Responsibilities: The Team Lead role is key to ensuring our customers have the best possible time whilst they are with us. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the customer’s day visit or residential stay runs smoothly, that activities are prepped, delivered and cleared away appropriately, and providing an approachable & professional point of contact for the customer.
  • Communicating with Experience Managers and ensuring that Activity Instructors & International Volunteers know what they are doing each day, with tasks carried out with customer service, compliance, and health & safety in mind at all times.
  • During peak season, managing customers and running activities, plus assisting in the kitchen or housekeeping as required.
  • During off‑peak months, focusing on equipment maintenance and admin tasks.

Team Lead Responsibilities: In addition to the above, the Team Lead must be:

  • Customer‑focused, enjoys working outdoors directly with adults and children.
  • Qualified in kayaking and/or ropes, with strong instructor‑based skills.
  • A proactive team player who shares existing knowledge and is eager to learn new skills.

Reporting: Responsible to Experience Managers.
