We are Rootd. We are mixing things up and changing school residential trips for the better. Making them current. Making them matter. Our residential adventures encourage children to unplug, switch on and live in the here and now.
Who are you?
You are a positive role model for children. The sort of person that children look up to. To put it simply, you are an authentic leader and excited about sharing your knowledge. You relate to children on their wavelength and are warm and welcoming. You value children having flexibility and freedom. And you certainly don’t believe in queues for the sake of queues.
Our Outdoor Activity Instructors are the people who make our residential trips outstanding. You will need a flexible, creative approach. When working outdoors, the only certainty is that there will be uncertainty. This is something you not only embrace, but you enjoy the challenge it brings. Being responsible for a group of children energises you. You will enjoy communicating and liaising with school teachers. And this is important, you will personally contribute to maintain our impressive record of five‑star reviews.
Year‑round contracts
Our camps run from February to November, but our contracts are year‑round. Why? Well, we don’t think the best people hibernate in the winter. During the winter months, you will help us in different aspects of the business. You might create new sessions for our camps, or deliver nature, bushcraft or team workshops in schools. Or you might get involved in sales, marketing, customer support, admin – we try and match your interests to the role. You will be encouraged to try new things. And this is just the beginning.

Excellent pay and benefits scheme
With a starting salary of £28,000 per annum you are paid for a job that does not feel like work. We aren’t saying you won’t work hard, you will. But if you love working with children and the great outdoors, you will be rewarded with satisfaction, ownership of how trips run and full engagement in our business.
