Torridon Outdoors are seeking a freelance seasonal activity instructor for 2025 (April β August, 2 days a week). We are looking for a hard-working, professional, and self-driven individual with a passion for providing high quality adventure experiences.
We provide adventure activities for residents of the Torridon hotel, as well as non-residents visiting the area and hotel staff. We are known for delivering high quality activities to small mainly adult groups, aiming for every trip to feel personalised to our guests' needs. Located on the site of the Torridon hotel, and part of the wider framework of the hotel, it is essential that instructors are friendly, presentable, and enthusiastic. You will be meeting people from all over the world and showcasing this special area, adding immensely to their memories of their stay with us.
Based in the Northwest Highlands, on the shores of Upper Loch Torridon, we are ideally placed for sea kayaking, hill walking, and mountain biking. We currently offer these core activities from freelance staff as well as gorge scrambling, snorkelling, archery, and clay pigeon shooting for full-time staff. As well as having an amazing location for activities with our guests, we are also perfectly situated for personal days out and it is an ideal place for personal and professional development.
Due to the location, nature, and demands of the role, applicants need a minimum of summer mountain leader, sea kayak leader, and a 2-day outdoor first aid course. In addition to these, applicants should have a qualification/experience delivering archery sessions and have a full UK driver's license. A mountain bike leader and maintenance qualification are also a benefit. The appointed person will have at least 3 yearsβ experience in leading activities in the above prerequisite areas.
This is a freelance only position and will be offered for 2 days a week for the 5 months mentioned (APR-AUG INCL). The days offered will be Sunday and Monday, with other days offered if we have the business needs.
To Apply: Please email outdoors@thetorridon.com with a CV which has the minimum qualifications outlined above. Prerequisites are required to ensure a reply.
