Responsibilities:
- Be able to effectively plan and deliver high quality Duke of Edinburgh Award sessions with an emphasis on safe practice, learning outcomes and a high standard of customer service.
- Be flexible in their availability to work, including overnights, evenings and weekends.
- Work as part of the team to ensure the program, staff and customers all comply with H&S requirements/regulations and local working practice.
- Follow and comply with policies and procedures around safeguarding, incident management and recording, information security governance, health and safety and risk assessment protocol.
- Be reflective in their practice, looking for continuous development and improvement in both their own and the team's provision of the DofE experience.
The Postholders will have the following experience/skills:
- Experience working with young people in the outdoors.
- High personal standards in presentation, communication and delivering customer service.
- Hold a minimum of Lowland Leader Award or equivalent.
- Current First Aid Award.
- Safeguarding less than 3 years old.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
- Expedition Assessor and Supervisor or Assessor/Supervisor (EASTC) or Expedition Assessor (EAAS).
- Previous DofE experience.
- Suitable references will be needed for this role.
