Ekco is a rapidly growing, securityâfirst Managed Service Provider based in the UK, Ireland, Benelux, South Africa and Malaysia. Our mission is to help organisations modernise, secure, and optimise their cloud environments with local expertise and European scale.
We are looking for a Service Desk Engineer to join our Group IT Team on a 6âmonth contract (with the possibility of permanency). This is a handsâon role that requires onâsite presence at our UK headquarters in Milton Keynes at least three days per week, with regular travel to London and occasional trips to Ireland or the Netherlands.
DayâtoâDay Responsibilities
- Manage tickets with highâquality triage, notes, communication and customer service.
- Coordinate with HR to onboard new joiners.
- Provide hardware breakâfix support and laptop/phone imaging.
- Maintain device inventory and support logistics for hardware deliveries.
- Offer remote technical support to users across all regions.
- Assist with basic networking, printing and infrastructure support in UK offices.
- Coâordinate with technical teams and 3rdâparty vendors.
- Document changes and processes in our documentation solution.
Essential Qualities
- Passion for IT and technology.
- Experience supporting hardware/software (in any context).
- Comfortable using Windows and/or macOS.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure, Intune and Windows Server.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to explain basic IT concepts such as servers, clients, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switches and routers.
- Selfâmotivation to research new concepts and technologies.
- Excellent English professional communication skills.
- Team player.
Desirable
- 1+ years of similar technical role experience.
- Professional work experience.
- Experience with Linux and other technologies.
- Basic administration of Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows Desktop/Server, Active Directory, macOS.
- Scripting or programming experience.
- Industry certifications â Azure, Microsoft 365, A+ and Network+ desirable.
- Experience with ticketing systems and/or ITIL Framework.
