Mobile Health Assessment Specialist - North & East London
£21,691.58 base salary (that's £13.90/hour), plus overtime, mileage and commission based on performance, taking many Health Assessment Specialists to £32,000-£34,000 OTE
Part time, 30 hours per week (3 x 10-hour shifts)
We're recruiting Health Assessment Specialists who live in or close to Edmonton, Chingford, Tottenham, Wood Green, Walthamstow, Woodford, Finsbury Park, Camden Town or Enfield.
- Before you apply, here are the essentials so you can be sure this role is right for you:
- Full flexibility is required: you'll work any day between Monday and Sunday, any time between 6am and 10pm, on a rota.
You can request 2 days off in a calendar month for any reason; outside of those 2 days, full flexibility across the rota is required.
- You'll drive to venues across your wider region, sometimes up to 2 hours from home.
Your paid working day is the 10-hour shift itself; the driving time isn't paid as working time, but we pay mileage for every mile, plus hotel and meal costs for journeys over 1.5 hours.
- You'll need your own car with a proper boot, and the ability to get business-use car insurance that covers you to drive for work purposes.
- You'll need a private, secure space at home to store your kit between shifts (such as a locked cupboard, garage or hallway); shared spaces, for example some shared accommodation, may not be suitable.
- Your first two weeks of training are at our Milton Keynes Head Office, Monday to Friday (accommodation and meals covered if you live over 90 minutes away).
- This is a sales-driven role: you'll work towards performance targets and commission is a core part of how HAS earn, alongside delivering clinical tests.
- If those work for you, read on, this could be a genuinely great role.
We welcome people from all working backgrounds and our training is comprehensive, so you don't need prior clinical experience.
That said, we love to see a real interest in health and wellbeing, strong customer service instincts, and comfort with the sales side of the role, since targets and commission are built into how HAS earn.
At Bluecrest Wellness, you'll help people take control of their health and wellbeing, meeting customers who rely on your support, reassurance and professionalism every day, while also advising them on further tests suited to their needs.
- What Your Day As a HAS Will Involve
- Your rota (3 x 10-hour shifts, scheduled anytime between 6am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday) is given up to 8 weeks in advance, so you can plan ahead around your required flexibility.
Occasionally you may also need to travel by public transport.
- You'll set up at a well-presented venue, see 15-25 customers a day (10-45 minute appointments) covering tests such as PAD, ECG, phlebotomy, lung function and body composition, advising on further tests suited to each customer, then pack down and complete admin before heading home.
- You're often a customer's first step in understanding their health, so the reassurance and professionalism you bring makes a genuine difference, and your recommendations on further testing are a key part of the role.
No two days are the same.
- What We'd Like To See In a Future HAS
- A full UK licence and access to your own car with a proper boot (hatchback, saloon or estate; small cars like a Mini or similar supermini won't fit the kit), plus the ability to obtain business-use car insurance covering you to drive for work.
- A private, secure space at home to store your kit between shifts, such as a locked cupboard, garage or hallway; shared spaces, for example some shared accommodation, may not be suitable.
You'll be responsible for managing your own kit day-to-day, including restocking and ordering supplies through our system when needed.
- Full flexibility to work any day Monday to Sunday, any time between 6am and 10pm (shift patterns: 6am-4pm, 8am-6pm, 1pm-10pm); outside of 2 requestable days off a month, full flexibility across the rota is required.
- Prior experience using computer systems to input and retrieve information, such as logging results, updating customer records or reviewing customer history, alongside comfort using a laptop, phone or tablet.
- Comfort working towards sales targets and KPIs alongside clinical delivery, since commission and performance targets are a core part of how HAS earn.
- A clear DBS check, which we process on your behalf.
- Living in or close to one of the areas listed at the top of this advert, and able to travel up to 2 hours from home with occasional overnight stays.
- Able to attend our Milton Keynes Head Office for 2 weeks of training, Monday to Friday (accommodation and meals covered if you live over 90 minutes away).
- A willingness to learn, and confidence working independently without constant supervision.
- As part of onboarding you'll need a satisfactory enhanced criminal records check (covered by us).
What can we offer you in return?
- Balance & Support: Base salary of £21,691.58/year for 30 hours (plus commission, mileage and overtime, taking most HAS to £32,000-£34,000 OTE), with achievable targets and coaching rather than micromanagement, competitive annual leave, Company Sick Pay and Enhanced Family Leave.
- Learning & Development: National Association of Phlebotomy membership (post-probation), career development pathways, Bluecrest Academy for Aspiring Managers, Leadership Development Programme, 24/7 Learning Library.
- Financial & Lifestyle: Salary exchange pension, Employee Charity Sponsorship Scheme, retail and leisure discounts, Home Office Allowance, Sophos @Home Protection, Employee Assistance Programme.
- Health & Wellbeing: Discounted gym membership, Cycle to Work Scheme, four free health assessments a year for you, family or friends, 50% off additional tests, life insurance.
- After qualifying period, subject to terms, contract type and/or eligibility.
