Position: Trainee Phlebotomist
Location: Field Based – London area (Dalston, Hackney, Stoke Newington, Stratford and surrounding regions)
Salary: ÂŁ27,783 per year plus Commission, Overtime, Expenses and Benefits
Internal title: Health Assessment Specialist
Notes: We are only able to consider applicants who reside in the specified locations above.
Responsibilities:
- You will be required to work 4 x 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours total). Shifts may start as early as 6am and finish as late as 10pm, Monday to Sunday, with hours allocated 3 weeks in advance by our resource planner.
- You may drive up to 2 hours to reach your venue; this may occur outside your 10-hour shift. Depending on the venue type, you may also use public transport.
- Work across multiple clinic venues within your region, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Plan your route at the start of each day, travel to the allocated venue, unpack and set up your kit, and greet customers. You can expect 15 to 22 customers per day, with appointment durations ranging from 10 to 45 minutes depending on the package and assessments chosen.
- Perform health assessments based on customer packages, including but not limited to: PAD, ECG, Phlebotomy (once qualified), Lung Function, Body Composition, and short fitness tests. You will also advise on further testing where appropriate and maintain all relevant administration records.
- Note: You will not relay results or lifestyle advice to customers after assessments are complete.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own car to transport kit to and from venues; ability to store kit items at home when not working.
- Ability to work any day from Monday to Sunday and any time between 6am and 10pm on a rota basis (6am–4pm, 8am–6pm, or 1pm–10pm).
- Proficiency with computers/laptops/phones/tablets.
- Clear DBS (we will process this on your behalf).
- Ability to travel up to 2 hours from home location and occasional overnight stays as required.
- Live within the required distance of the regional location for the role.
- Willingness to attend our Milton Keynes head office for the first 2 weeks of training (Mon–Fri in Milton Keynes).
- A genuine willingness to learn and take on new skills.
- Onboarding requires a satisfactory enhanced criminal records check (covered by us).
- All roles require a satisfactory criminal record check as part of onboarding.
