A leading specialist civil engineering subcontractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team delivering HS2 projects in London. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of civil engineering subcontract works, including cost planning, contract administration, and valuation of works.
• Prepare accurate interim valuations, final accounts, and financial reports for internal and client review.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts, ensuring risk is appropriately managed.
• Support project managers in identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, providing proactive recommendations to optimise financial performance.
• Maintain detailed records of project correspondence, variations, and claims.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior QS in civil engineering, ideally within rail infrastructure or major public projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and commercial management processes.
• Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex cost data and advise management effectively.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of managing stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure on high-profile projects with tight deadlines.
