As part of their continued growth, they’re looking to appoint a Preconstruction Engineer to play a key role in shaping project delivery strategies, influencing design decisions and developing innovative construction solutions from the earliest stages. The Role
Working closely with technical, commercial and operational teams, you’ll be involved in projects from concept through to handover, helping to develop robust delivery strategies that set projects up for success. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing construction methodologies and sequencing strategies for complex basement and structural engineering projects
- Providing technical input on temporary works, excavation support and ground engineering solutions
- Assessing buildability and identifying opportunities to improve programme, safety and efficiency
- Supporting early-stage cost planning, programme development and risk management activities
- Collaborating with consultants, designers and project delivery teams throughout the preconstruction process
- Preparing tender submissions and ensuring smooth project handovers to operational teams
About You
You’ll have experience within a preconstruction, project engineering or technical engineering role and be comfortable working on complex construction projects where early planning and engineering expertise are critical. We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
- Basement construction
- Geotechnical or ground engineering works
- Temporary works and enabling works packages
You’ll also bring:
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- A solid understanding of construction sequencing and buildability
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and challenge design solutions where appropriate
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- An engineering qualification or relevant industry experience
