Overview: You could be pricing incredible, landmark structures projects situated in the heart of the capital, tenders that need innovative thinking and methodology. You will have priced projects in London; schemes with enabling works, cut & carve, basements and RC works. This could include a new build concrete frame with a single basement, or maybe you have tendered for piling, groundworks or a cut & carve in London Bridge. It might be a huge single or double basement in W1. You will be pulling all of this together and pricing a £30m to £50m project in somewhere like the city or the West End, drawing on the experience in-house and putting in a tender to self-deliver these works under one roof. Locations with extremely high footfall and tubelines running everywhere are common.
As an estimator, you will learn new techniques after every tender. No two projects are in any way similar apart from the central London location. This is a chance to be involved in securing iconic, landmark projects.
