Digital Engineering Lead | Shape the Future of Digital Delivery | Specialist Contractor | Central London

This is more than a BIM Manager position. It's an opportunity to become the driving force behind Digital Engineering for one of London's leading specialist contractors.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence how projects are delivered – not just manage models – this could be the career move you've been waiting for.

I'm working with an award-winning specialist contractor renowned for delivering some of London's most technically demanding cut & carve, structural alteration and complex refurbishment projects.

As the business continues to grow, they're looking for an ambitious Digital Engineering Lead to take ownership of their Digital Engineering capability and help shape its future.

This is a rare opportunity to move beyond project delivery and become a strategic leader, working alongside the senior leadership team to develop digital best practice, drive innovation and build a Digital Engineering function that supports the next phase of the company's growth.

You'll become the go-to Digital Engineering expert within the business, leading the digital strategy across multiple high-profile projects while helping define how BIM and digital technology are embedded throughout the organisation.

Rather than inheriting an established function, you'll have the autonomy to influence how it evolves – introducing new ideas, improving processes, mentoring others and raising the standard of digital delivery across every project.

For someone with ambition, this role offers a genuine pathway into a senior leadership position as the business continues to expand.

You'll be involved from tender through to completion, ensuring Digital Engineering adds real value at every stage of the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading Digital Engineering across multiple complex structural alteration and cut & carve projects.
  • Developing BIM strategy, standards and best practice across the business.
  • Producing and managing high-quality 3D and 4D models that improve planning, sequencing and project delivery.
  • Working alongside planners, engineers and project teams to solve complex buildability challenges before work begins on site.
  • Driving coordination across design teams, subcontractors and temporary works specialists.
  • Managing BIM Execution Plans, Common Data Environments and project information.
  • Championing innovation, digital construction techniques and continuous improvement.
  • Mentoring and developing junior Digital Engineers while helping grow the capability of the wider business.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on the future direction of Digital Engineering.

About You

You'll already have experience leading Digital Engineering or BIM delivery within a contractor or consultancy environment and be looking for the next step in your career.

You’ll ideally bring

  • Strong experience as a BIM Manager/Senior Digital Engineer
  • A solid understanding of complex construction, ideally within structural alterations, refurbishment, heavy temporary works or demolition projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and 4D planning software such as Synchro.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to influence project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • A passion for using Digital Engineering to solve real construction challenges – not simply produce models.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Take ownership of the Digital Engineering function within a growing specialist contractor.
  • Influence company strategy and help shape the future of digital delivery.
  • Work directly with senior leadership and become a key part of the business.
  • Deliver some of London's most technically challenging and prestigious structural engineering projects.
  • Enjoy genuine autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to implement your own ideas.
  • Build and mentor a growing Digital Engineering team.
  • Excellent long-term career progression into a senior leadership role as the business continues to expand.
