The opportunity
Reporting directly to the Divisional Managing Director, you will lead all commercial operations across a portfolio of specialist civil engineering projects, ensuring strong financial performance while supporting the division’s long-term growth strategy. Key responsibilities
- Lead all commercial activities across the division’s project portfolio
- Drive profitability through effective cost management, forecasting and commercial controls
- Oversee procurement, subcontract management, contract administration and risk management
- Work closely with operational teams to maximise project performance and margin
- Lead, mentor and develop the commercial team
- Support strategic planning and business growth alongside the Divisional Managing Director
- Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and key stakeholders
- Ensure robust commercial governance across all projects
About you
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within civil engineering, infrastructure or specialist contracting
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing commercial teams
- Excellent commercial acumen and ability to drive business performance
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management best practice
- Confident operating at senior management level and influencing key stakeholders
