BlueBolt is looking for an experienced Lead Assistant Technical Director (ATD) to join our expanding, dynamic team. In this key role, you will lead technical support efforts and enhance how our Technology team supports BlueBolt's artists and producers. You will offer vital technical assistance, influence our tools and infrastructure, and help advance our pipeline and workflows.
The perfect candidate will have previous ATD experience in VFX and be ready to step into a leadership role. This position reports directly to the Head of Pipeline. Our offices are in Central London, and we anticipate a hybrid work model of two days per week in the office. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Assistant Technical Director (ATD) team.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with ATD team members.
- Delegate tasks, provide necessary training, identify further training requirements, and assist in setting deadlines and tracking progress.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Offer first-line support for application and hardware issues.
- Resolve rendering problems.
Tooling & Infrastructure
- Aid in the deployment of new tools through testing and the creation of user documentation.
- Contribute to larger DevOps projects with the technology team and lead smaller projects.
- Conduct internal testing of third-party and in-house tools.
Pipeline & Workflow
- Set up publishing systems for new productions and perform color and framing loop tests.
- Complete assigned pipeline-related project work under the guidance of the Pipeline team.
- Develop documentation for ATD tasks.
