We are seeking a Service Engineer to work for an industrial machinery manufacturer based in Ashford, Kent. The successful applicant will be working from the company’s HQ in Ashford for much of the time. They will be expected to travel to commission machines and provide technical support to customers worldwide on average 3 – 5 times per year, for between 2 and 5 weeks each time. This is a full time position of 37 hours per week, working 08.00 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and 08.00 to 13.00 Friday. This appointment involves: – All aspects of installation and assembly of heavy machinery – Visiting customers’ premises for the purpose of installing and testing equipment – Machine assembly – Inspection – Site maintenance The successful applicant must have: • HNC or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering • Practical problem solving skills • Practical mechanical skills and experience • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical • Ability to work independently • Willingness to travel Desirable skills include: • Basic knowledge of electrical power and control systems • Experience in inspection and quality control • Experience in using high precision measuring equipment • Experience of equipment installation in a factory setting Key words: commissioning engineer service engineer servicing engineer service technician maintenance engineer maintenance technician assembly technician assembly engineer assembler mechanical engineer mechanical engineering electrical engineer electrical engineering field engineer
