We are seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Projects Manager / Engineer to work for a market leading mechanical and electrical systems contractor based in Ramsgate.
Job Purpose: The Mechanical and Electrical Projects Manager / Engineer is accountable for the engineering and technical management of all assigned projects. This includes coordinating and overseeing multiple contracts simultaneously, ranging from small works to major capital projects. Working closely with the Project Managers and Directors, the postholder will plan, forecast, resource, and manage technical activities to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance from conception to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Manage multiple projects ensuring installation and delivery within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Oversee and verify compliance with design specifications, codes, HSEQ policies, and performance standards.
- Provide technical and management support to site-based teams, including preparation of technical submissions for plant and equipment.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, initiating corrective actions where necessary.
- Assist with the pricing of variations and preparation of monthly valuations alongside the Project Manager.
- Monitor project budgets, report monthly status updates, and identify opportunities for cost efficiency.
- Support tender preparation and bid submissions as required.
- Act as a company representative in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in project engineering within a mechanical/electrical building services environment.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong customer and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Competent understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and quality control principles.
- Relevant industry qualifications in Mechanical engineering or building services.
- Full UK driving licence.
