Supporting families across Mid & West Cornwall

At Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall, we provide compassionate, personalised care that helps children with complex needs feel safe, supported, and able to enjoy everyday life at home and in their community. We’re looking for experienced and caring Children’s Support Workers to deliver high-quality, one-to-one support to children with complex needs. This is a truly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working closely with children and families and wants to make a meaningful difference.

About the role

You’ll be supporting children with complex needs in their own homes and community settings, working closely with families and professionals to provide care that is tailored to each child. This role requires someone calm, reliable, and confident in working with children who may have physical, sensory, behavioural, or medical needs. Due to the rural areas we cover, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering person-centred care, including personal care such as washing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
  • Supporting children with physical, sensory, behavioural, and medical needs
  • Helping with daily routines, including school runs, mealtimes, and bedtime
  • Encouraging communication, independence, and confidence
  • Supporting community outings and social activities
  • Following detailed care plans and completing accurate care records
  • Working in partnership with families, schools, and healthcare professionals

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working with children (care, education, support, or health settings)
  • Confidence and compassion when providing personal care
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
  • A calm, respectful, and child-focused approach
  • Experience supporting children with complex or additional needs is desirable

£12.24 per hour (weekdays) 50% uplift on Bank Holidays
