As a motivated and values-driven person, you will support the Registered Manager to ensure the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of domiciliary care services across the Doncaster area being part of a great team. You will play a key role in monitoring the quality of care, supporting and supervising care staff, and managing care rotas, ensuring services are delivered in line with Bluebird Care policies, CQC regulations, and Local Authority or private care contracts. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Service Delivery & Quality of Care: Be accountable to the Registered Manager for the smooth day-to-day operation of the domiciliary care service. Manage enquiries and support the Registered Manager with initial assessments and service start-ups. Monitor care delivery through spot checks, observations, audits, and feedback. Take prompt action to address any concerns relating to care quality or staff performance. Ensure medication administration is safe and compliant with policies. Escalate and report safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complaints in line with Bluebird Care procedures and local authority requirements.
  • Rota Management & Scheduling: Plan, manage, and maintain care rotas to ensure safe staffing levels and continuity of care. Allocate care staff appropriately, matching skills and experience to client needs. Ensure rotas allow sufficient travel time and enable carers to deliver the full commissioned care time. Manage staff availability, sickness, holidays, and emergency cover. Minimise missed or late calls and respond effectively to rota changes. Support the on-call rota to ensure adequate out-of-hours cover.
  • Staff Supervision & Development: Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and competency assessments in line with Bluebird Care policies. Support the induction, training, mentoring, and ongoing development of care staff. Monitor staff wellbeing and address concerns proactively to support retention. Support the Registered Manager with disciplinary, grievance, and performance management processes.
  • Compliance, Administration & Finance: Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping on care management and rostering systems. Communicate changes to care packages and staffing hours to payroll/finance as required. Support audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes. Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, contractual requirements, and Bluebird Care policies. Maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times. Act as a point of contact for clients, families, professionals, and staff. Provide regular operational updates to the Registered Manager. Support team meetings and ensure actions are recorded and followed up. Promote a positive, professional, and values-led culture.
  • General Responsibilities: Maintain a professional appearance in line with Bluebird Care uniform policy. Attend meetings, training, and networking events as required. Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and a person-centred approach at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in domiciliary care (Care Coordinator, Supervisor, or similar role)
  • Strong experience in rota management and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Competent IT skills, including rostering and care management systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
  • To participate in an on-call rota
  • No Switch or sponsorship offered.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)
  • Experience supporting CQC inspections
  • Knowledge of Local Authority commissioning and private care packages
