Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall supports people to live well and safely in their own homes across Mid and West Cornwall. We are proud to be rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Role Overview

We are looking for a caring Complex Care Support Worker to join the small team supporting a young lady in her own home in Camborne. This is a permanent role of 24 hours a week. During the day, you will work alongside a colleague to provide 2:1 support. At night, you will provide 1:1 sleep-in support.

You will be part of a small, steady team who know this young lady well. Consistency is important to her, so the people around her really matter. With your support, she can stay safe, be understood and make her own choices every day.

Key Responsibilities

You will be one of the people she trusts every day:

  • Supporting her with personal care, practical tasks and emotional wellbeing

  • Supporting her with PEG feeding

  • Supporting her to get out into the community, enjoying days out and trips

  • Following her care plan closely and keeping clear, accurate records

  • Promoting her safety, independence and choice in everyday decisions

This is not about getting through a list of tasks. It is about getting to know someone well, noticing how she is feeling, and helping her live the life she wants.

What you get

  • £13.46 an hour, rising to £13.66 an hour at weekends, with sleep-in nights paid at the same hourly rate

  • A regular pattern of work with the same customer and the same small team

  • A full induction and paid shadow shifts until you and the team feel ready

  • Specialist training, including PEG feeding and communication support

  • A Blue Light Card, giving you discounts with hundreds of retailers

  • A staff referral scheme – recommend a friend and receive a bonus when they join

  • Recognition through our annual appraisal and Care Expert of the Month

  • Qualified Mental Health First Aiders in the team

  • Social events and fundraising

  • Wellbeing support when you need it

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car

  • The right to work in the UK

  • Willingness to train in specialist skills, including PEG feeding

  • Experience in care, especially complex care or learning disability support

  • Experience of PEG feeding or supporting people who use alternative communication

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care

How we will grow you

You will start with a full induction and paid shadow shifts. We provide all the specialist training you need for this role, including PEG feeding. You will have regular supervision and support from our clinical team. If you want to progress, we can support you with care qualifications and a route into senior or supervisory roles.

Before you apply

Due to the personal care needs of our customer, this vacancy is open to female applicants only. This is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

You will need the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role, so if you require sponsorship your application will not be successful.

A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.

DBS checking and references will be undertaken in line with government regulations and recruitment best practices.
