Recruitment Administrator

Location: Bromley, Lewisham & Southwark & Sevenoaks. Contract type: Office. Salary: £26,000 per annum.

To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Recruitment Manager throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.

The Recruitment Administrator will help ensure a positive candidate experience while maintaining accurate recruitment records and ensuring all pre‑employment checks are completed in line with company policies, safer recruitment practices and employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the Recruitment Manager.
  • Assist the Recruitment Manager with the full recruitment process, from advertising vacancies through to onboarding successful candidates.
  • Screen applications against role requirements and assist with arranging interviews.
  • Liaise with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing updates and responding to recruitment enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and update the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) throughout the recruitment process.
  • Verify candidates' right to work in the UK by checking original documentation, including passports, birth certificates and share codes where applicable.
  • Process pre‑employment checks, including references, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) applications, employment history verification and other compliance documentation.
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts of employment and onboarding documentation for successful candidates.
  • Coordinate skills assessments, induction training and new starter onboarding, ensuring all required documentation is completed before employment commences.
  • Ensure recruitment files are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with GDPR and company procedures.
  • Work closely with the Recruitment Manager.
  • Support the organisation’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion throughout all recruitment activities.
  • Carry out any other recruitment administration duties as requested by the Recruitment Manager.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience in an administration, recruitment or HR support role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn recruitment systems.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a wider team.
  • Professional, approachable and able to maintain confidentiality.

Desirable

  • Experience within the health and social care sector.
  • Knowledge of safer recruitment practices.
  • Experience processing DBS applications, references and other pre‑employment checks.
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (e. g. Tribepad).

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • A qualification in Business Administration, Human Resources or Recruitment is desirable but not essential.
