Clinical Children’s Care Manager

Bluebird Care Bristol is launching an exciting new service for children and young people, and we are looking for an experienced Clinical Children’s Care Manager to play a key role in its development. Working four days per week with a salary of £40,000, you will help build and deliver a safe, compassionate and truly child-centred service.

Applicants must be a Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN and have relevant experience supporting children or young people.

Responsibilities

  • Support the launch, development and safe operation of our new children’s service in Bristol.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop child-centred care plans, risk assessments and clinical support plans.
  • Work closely with children, young people and their families to ensure care reflects their individual needs, routines, wishes and goals.
  • Provide clinical oversight of medication, delegated healthcare tasks, emergency protocols and individual staff competencies.
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring concerns are recognised, recorded and escalated appropriately.
  • Supervise and develop Care Professionals, ensuring they have the training, skills and confidence to provide safe, high-quality care.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, social workers, commissioners and other health and care professionals.
  • Assess new referrals to ensure the service can safely meet each child or young person’s needs.
  • Monitor service quality through reviews, observations, audits and feedback, taking prompt action where improvements are required.
  • Support the continued growth of the children’s service without compromising safety, quality or the individual experience of children and their families.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota when required.
