If you enjoy seeing complex engineering systems come to life — and want a role that gets you out from behind a desk — this could be a great next move. This is a hands-on Installation & Commissioning Engineer role working on bespoke engine and component test systems installed directly into customer manufacturing environments. No two projects are the same. You’ll be building, integrating, commissioning and troubleshooting one-off, prototype-style systems that combine mechanical assemblies, electrical control panels, PLCs, fluid and pneumatic systems.

The role:

  • Install and commission complex test cells and special-purpose machinery
  • Integrate PLC-controlled systems (Siemens S7 preferred) into mechanical builds
  • Assemble and fault-find across full systems — from rotating machinery to hydraulics (up to 500 bar)
  • Work with fuel, oil, water, pneumatic and ventilation systems
  • Support testing, calibration and documentation at customer sites

Why this role stands out:

  • Variety & autonomy: Prototype-style builds where your judgement and problem-solving matter
  • Technical breadth: Mechanical, electrical, PLC, fluids and pneumatics in one role
  • Travel with purpose: UK and overseas projects with full expenses covered
  • Career progression: Supported development as the company continues to grow
  • Strong work-life balance: Early Friday finish and structured working hours

What you’ll need:

  • Practical experience across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Confidence fault-finding at system and component level
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in customer-facing environments
  • Clean driving licence and strong safety-first mindset

What’s included:
