If you’re a creative marketer with a flair for design, digital storytelling and bringing powerful ideas to life, this could be your next opportunity. As our Creative Content Marketing Officer, you will create engaging multimedia content across digital, social media and print, helping to grow awareness, inspire supporters and generate vital income. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and purpose-driven Income Generation team where individuality is embraced and your creativity, organisation and digital expertise will help amplify the voice of the hospice and support our mission.

Job Purpose

You will use creative content to connect audiences with Bluebell Wood’s work, strengthen our profile and turn engagement into meaningful support. Combining design, photography, video and digital communications, you will make our stories accessible, memorable and relevant across every channel.

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you will work collaboratively across the hospice, deliver integrated campaigns, manage paid digital advertising and use insight to improve performance. You will also act as a brand guardian, ensuring every communication is consistent, accessible and compliant with relevant data protection, copyright and consent requirements.

What you will do

This is a snapshot of the role, not an exhaustive list. Please download the full job description and person specification for more detail.

  • Create engaging multimedia content; using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign for graphic design, as well as Premier Pro and Lightroom for video and photography, to support marketing, fundraising and organisational objectives.
  • Plan, create and manage social media, website content, e-newsletters and digital campaigns using strong storytelling, SEO best practice and audience-focused messaging.
  • Plan, manage and analyse paid digital advertising, including Meta Ads and Google AdWords, ensuring activity remains within budget and delivers against objectives.
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns through concept development, audience targeting, channel selection and performance evaluation.
  • Work with teams across the hospice to identify compelling content opportunities and supporter stories, attending events and activities to capture photography, video and case studies.
  • Manage internal briefs, provide professional marketing advice and creative solutions, and maintain marketing resources and creative asset storage systems.
  • Act as a brand guardian and ensure content meets GDPR, copyright, data protection, consent and accessibility requirements, while supporting the marketing inbox and out-of-hours rota.

What you will need:

We’re looking for a creative and proactive digital marketer who communicates authentically, brings strong design and editing skills, and has a passion for producing high-quality multimedia content. You will be confident managing multiple priorities, working collaboratively, taking responsibility for your work and using performance insight to optimise activity and achieve results.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong graphic design and editing skills, with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience creating multimedia content across digital, social media, website, email, video, photography and print channels.
  • Experience analysing campaign and channel performance and using insight to optimise results.
  • Strong storytelling, written communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Ability to work regularly on site to capture content. Hybrid working is available for this role.
  • Proof of your right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

What else you need to know:

  • Completion of a health assessment relevant to the role.
  • A Standard DBS check.
  • Two references.
  • All offers of employment are conditional on satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks.

Why join Bluebell Wood?

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we’re committed to ensuring every baby, child and young person with a life-limiting condition can access specialist palliative care whenever and wherever they need it. Supporting families across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire, we provide a wide range of expert services tailored to each family’s needs, including respite care, symptom management, counselling, therapies, home visits and end-of-life support. Delivering this vital care costs around £6.7 million each year, yet only around 17% of our income comes from government funding, meaning we rely heavily on fundraising, donations and community support. That’s why every role at Bluebell Wood matters.

As Creative Content Marketing Officer, you will help tell authentic stories that inspire supporters, strengthen communities and enable families to receive the care they need. In return, you will be part of a values-led organisation where we embrace individuality, welcome ideas and take responsibility for delivering work that has a meaningful impact every single day.

What we offer:

  • Time off: 33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays, plus the option to buy and sell leave.
  • Wellbeing: Employee assistance programme, including mental health support and out-of-hours GP access.
  • Pay and pension: 5% matched pension scheme and enhanced night shift pay.
  • Family friendly: Enhanced Bluebell Wood family leave pay, including maternity and paternity pay.
  • Development: Ongoing commitment to your professional development.
  • Everyday extras: Free parking, subsidised lunch, free tea and coffee, cycle to work scheme, NHS Blue Light Card eligibility and access to our rewards portal.

Successful applicants will be invited to the hospice for an interview, where you’ll have the opportunity to showcase a small selection of your previous campaign work as part of the interview process. As you’ll be presenting your work on the day, there’s no need to include portfolio samples with your application

Closing date: Monday 2nd November 2026
