Our Junior Crowd Animators work within a team of animators to create an interesting array of characters animation for secondary characters. For this action-packed show, secondary characters play a significant role in storytelling and are sometimes key to the plot.
The day-to-day responsibilities include focusing on comedic timing, charming acting choices, and meeting production deadlines, all while aligning with the Director\’s vision and the client\’s brief.

Day to Day:
- Collaborating with a team of animators and maintaining regular communication with your Team Lead and Animation Supervisor.
- Managing your time effectively to meet the deadlines for your assigned shots.
- Ensuring your work clearly communicates the story, ideas, and acting choices, from blocking to final animation.
- Responding positively to feedback and notes from your Director and Animation Supervisor.
- Creating and applying animation cycles for background characters.
- Working efficiently with large volumes of characters, utilizing methods like caching to accelerate workflow.
Must Have:
- Experience animating crowds.
- Understanding of body mechanics, posing, and achieving optimal character performance.
- Solid technical knowledge of Maya.
- Ability to accept and respond positively to feedback and direction.
- Good time management and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to share knowledge and skills with team members.
- Strong team player and collaborator.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in creating and applying animation cycles.
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of Python or Mel scripting.
- Additional creative skills such as drawing, acting, or dance.
- Experience with Shotgun or FTrack.
