About The Role
Our modelling artists are incredible character builders. They build characters with charming details that help tell stories. They are always keen and constantly striving to improve their skills and assets. This opportunity requires talent to be based regionally – in the UK, outside the M25 as per client requirements. The successful candidate must be based in the UK and will require the right to work in the UK. The role is due to start approximately at the end of June 2026. The vacancy can close early if we receive a high number of applications.
Day To Day
- Modelling, UV mapping, texturing and shading stylised character assets.
- Effectively realise a 2D concept through to 3D, and be able to work with minimal design guidance from a Senior or Lead Artist.
- Work as part of a team of modelling artists, communicating regularly with the Rigging Department, CG Supervisor, Art Director and Directors.
- Produce render tests for the approval process.
- Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Respond positively and act on notes and feedback from the Rigging Department, the CG Supervisor, Art Director and Director.
- Communicate with and respond to other departments to manage any fixes and notes, especially the Rigging and Surfacing Departments.
- Report to the Team Lead and Production Manager if there are issues that need to be flagged which could affect the schedule.
About You
Must Have
- Solid demonstrable animation production experience.
- Ability to interpret volume and form when creating models from concept designs.
- Experience working with modelling tools in Maya and Zbrush.
- Knowledge of clean topology and subdivision modelling principles.
- Proficiency in UV mapping with Maya.
- Knowledge of texturing assets with Substance Painter and Photoshop.
- Team player and strong collaborator.
- Creative problem‑solving skills.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of Substance Designer.
- Experience mentoring Junior Modellers.
