Blue Zoo Animation Studio is looking for a seasoned Lighting and Compositing Artist to join our Brighton studio as part of a dynamic team that creates bold, characterful animation.
About The Role
Our Lighting and Compositing Artists are visual storytellers who define the mood and atmosphere of our narratives, highlighting the charming details of characters, props and environments.
Day To Day
- Creating lighting scenes in Maya and compositing rendered shots in Nuke to deliver final visuals.
- Tweaking light rigs, render setāups and compositing templates to achieve the desired look.
- Optimizing render settings and monitoring renders to stay within budgeted time.
- Collaborating with the team of lighting and compositing artists and communicating with the Team Lead and PostāProduction Supervisor.
- Managing time efficiently to meet shot deadlines.
- Problemāsolving to fix errors, glitches and delivering notes accurately.
- Covering for the Team Lead when they are off.
- Handling the more challenging and technical shots.
- Providing mentorship and support to junior members while developing management skills.
About You
Must Have
- Knowledge of atmospheric lighting, colour grading and denoising render.
- Proficiency in Nuke to composite render layers.
- Ability to receive feedback and respond well to direction.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to develop skills while learning from teammates.
- Collaborative team player.
- Creative problemāsolving skills.
- Reliable and able to work independently.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to ask questions.
