We are seeking a talented CG Generalist to join our BZ Digital team, where you will play a central role in creating captivating content for our animation brands, including Numberblocks, Alphablocks, and Colourblocks. As part of the digital team, you will primarily work on projects for YouTube, apps, and licensing products. Your expertise in animation principles, character acting, and proficiency in Maya and Nuke will be essential in delivering high‑quality animated content for a variety of platforms to varied audiences. This opportunity is available on a one year, fixed‑term contract starting from mid‑June 2026. The successful candidate will need to be based in the UK and will require the right to work in the UK. Day To Day

  • Create captivating character animations in Maya, and then rendering and compositing using Redshift and Nuke.
  • Create compelling, on‑brand 3D character animations primarily in Maya, but also in Blender.
  • Take full ownership of 3D asset creation including modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating, and export characters, props, and environments.
  • Actively engage in brainstorming sessions with the team, contributing fresh ideas to enhance our digital content and projects.
  • Work closely with our production team to ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality animated content.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and fun work environment.
  • Work as part of a team of artists, and regularly communicate with your team lead.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet the deadlines of your assigned shots.
  • Ensure your work communicates the story, ideas and acting choices clearly from blocking through to the final animation.
  • Respond positively to, and act on, notes and feedback from your team lead.

About You

  • Proficiency in animation principles and character acting, backed by a strong understanding of Maya and Nuke.
  • Basic understanding of Blender.
  • Familiarity with both 3D and 2D aspects of the CG pipeline, including character animation, lighting and compositing, modelling and look‑dev.
  • Openness to exploring other animation technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to receive and act on feedback, adapting to direction with a positive attitude.
  • Strong time‑management and prioritization skills, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive as a team player.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing your exceptional animation and 3D generalist work.
