The Fieldwork Operations Manager manages MR Execs & Senior MR Execs capacity & responsibilities, responsible for delivering and the awareness across the business of fieldwork best practices, responsible for the continuity of projects in the event of issues, team leadership in FW Ops and cross team projects, receive & monitor facility bookings ensuring capacity is maximised, coordinating the smooth running and management of all projects, creating quotes for Sense:lab projects & allocate/brief Execs to lead upon commission, promoting Sense:lab & supporting with marketing efforts, reporting of business unit KPI’s to FW Ops Director.
- Project management: Ensure the team understand fieldwork best practice and are able to confidentially support project teams to develop first class, efficient and effective fieldwork briefs.
- Coordination: Develop & maintain fieldwork best practice and ensure the team are capable of delivering first class fieldwork.
- Comms: Sets the tone and frequency of comms with the team to ensure strong relationships with internal departments.
- Fieldwork Product preparation: Set onsite product prep processes in collaboration with Facilities Coordinator and ensure quality standards are outlined & maintained.
- Offsite fieldwork: Develop & maintain offsite fieldwork best practice and ensure the team are capable of delivering first class fieldwork, including the management, training, and coordination of offsite/external teams.
- Qual fieldwork: Develop & maintain Qual fieldwork best practice and ensure the team are capable of delivering first class fieldwork, including the management, training, and coordination of offsite/external teams.
- Fieldwork roles: Develop best practice for the roles of hosting, facilitating, interviewing & product hand‑outs and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Fieldwork Equipment: Maintain working tablets, temp laptops, mobile phones etc. Develop maintenance plans and delegate scheduled upkeep to the team. Develop equipment replacement plan to ensure legacy/obsolete equipment is not used for fieldwork.
- Booking systems: Create/develop booking systems, ensure team are aware of correct use. Find alternative/more efficient ways to book equipment as required.
- Facility Upkeep & maintenance: Develop facility upkeep standards and foster the need to maintain these high standards at all times with the team. Develop a strong working relationship with maintenance suppliers alongside the Facilities Coordinator.
- Capacity: Monitor & maintain overall capacity via efficient booking system. Work with the team to maximise facility and appointment schedule efficiency & report on facility efficiency to Operations Director.
- Set up/clear down: Develop & maintain processes for setting up & clearing down and review for effectiveness.
- Opening/closing facility: Keep track of facility key holders & ensure relevant people are aware of how to open/close facility (and wider business aware of facility use through delegation).
- Casual Staff Recruitment & onboarding: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training and quality standards - develop standards & processes and ensure they are being maintained.
