If you're not actively looking but are open to discussing the right opportunity, we'd be pleased to hear from you.

Help Build the Future of Blue Wire.

Blue Wire Mechanical & Electrical is a growing Building Services contractor delivering mechanical and electrical projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality and industrial sectors throughout the UK.

We're large enough to deliver exciting and technically challenging projects, yet small enough that every member of the team has the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

As we continue to grow, we're looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to help shape the future of our electrical division.

This is a genuine leadership role with responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to influence how the department develops.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll take ownership of multiple electrical projects from pre-construction through to completion while supporting our engineers, developing client relationships and maintaining the high standards Blue Wire is known for.

You'll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems, support our engineers and take ownership of the electrical side of project delivery with minimal day-to-day direction.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing multiple electrical projects from pre-start through to final handover.
  • Leading and supporting directly employed electricians and specialist subcontractors.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to engineers on site and from the office.
  • Attending client meetings, site meetings and project progress reviews.
  • Managing procurement, labour, subcontractors and project programmes.
  • Carrying out site surveys and developing scopes of work to support our estimating team.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities, variations and project risks.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Supporting testing, commissioning, certification and NICEIC compliance.
  • Working closely with the Operations Director and commercial team to support the continued growth of the business.

Most of our projects are located within approximately two hours of Leeds, although occasional UK travel and overnight stays will be required where necessary.

About You

You'll already have experience delivering commercial electrical projects and be confident leading engineers, managing clients and making technical decisions.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and supporting others rather than simply administering projects.

Ideally you'll have

  • Experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager, Senior Electrical Project Manager or similar.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial electrical installations and current industry standards.
  • Experience managing multiple live projects.
  • The confidence to provide technical support to qualified electricians.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and commercial awareness.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to make decisions.
  • NICEIC Qualified Supervisor or Responsible Person experience.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS.
  • Experience working within education, commercial or healthcare sectors.
  • Framework or public-sector experience.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £60,000 – £65,000 depending on experience.
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
  • Company pension.
  • Additional annual leave with long-service rewards.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Genuine responsibility and autonomy.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing business.
  • The opportunity to help shape the future of one of Yorkshire's growing Building Services contractors.

If you're looking for a role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact, support a great team of engineers and help build something for the long term, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
