We rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities
Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally.
Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe.
Project Summary
Blue Ventures has partnered with grassroots organisations worldwide to rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities. Blue Ventures provides funding and technical support for these grassroots organisations on the frontline of the ocean emergency, who are best placed to lead this mission. In addition to strengthening our partners’ technical capacity in community-based fisheries management, Blue Ventures also recognises the importance of enhancing leadership and organisational capacity of our partner organisations, not only to scale effectively and meaningfully, but to ensure the sustainability of these initiatives beyond donor funding and support.
We seek a consultant to support Blue Ventures in designing and piloting a capacity-building initiative for grassroots organisations in Blue Ventures’ partner network. The consultant will develop and support the delivery of accessible, practical, and context-specific training modules, strengthen trainer capacity, and support mentorship approaches to embed learning within partner organisations.
