Location: This position is a 100% office based.

Hours: Full or Part Time hours could be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring or experienced Document Controller to join a friendly, progressive company based in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. The role would suit someone who is a quick learner, detail conscious, has good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Blue Thorn Technology is a successful organisation that produces installation and fabrication drawings on major building projects, specialising in Building Services coordination. We are hiring a document controller to work on a new project which has stringent security protocols.

Please answer our screening questions as part of the application process to ensure you are permitted security access to work on the project. We will be requiring evidence from you from all the questions you answer as a requirement of the security checks.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure internal quality control measures are maintained and comply with ISO / BS standards
  • Manage the document management software
  • Inform all Project Leaders of information changes
  • Organise and maintain all project files
  • Provide general administrative support on specific projects
  • Photocopying, scanning, stamping and issuing of all documents
  • Deal with telephone calls and liaise with clients
  • Carry out site visits when required
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of document management, ISO / BS procedures and software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • A positive, assertive and confident attitude
  • Flexibility to meet business needs
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a similar role in a construction related company and knowledge of a typical engineering construction project lifecycle would be desirable but not essential.

Would suit experienced: technical document controller; document controller/administrator; construction document controller; project document controller.
