The Role

This is a varied and hands-on role that sits across both product and customer-facing technical activity, offering excellent exposure for someone early in their career. The role plays a key part in ensuring products meet the highest standards, while also acting as a point of contact for customers and consumers.

Day to day, the position involves managing customer and consumer enquiries, ensuring responses are handled in a timely, professional and empathetic manner. It also includes supporting the complaints process through investigation, traceability and root cause analysis, working closely with manufacturing partners and suppliers to drive resolution and continuous improvement.

Alongside this, the role supports the technical and product function through maintaining specifications and documentation, reviewing packaging and artwork for compliance, and assisting with product quality reviews, benchmarking and sensory evaluation. There is also the opportunity to contribute to new product development and product change projects, providing valuable experience across the full product lifecycle.

The Person

This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or someone in the early stages of their career within food, looking to build strong foundations in technical and product development. A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related discipline is preferred, along with an understanding of food safety principles such as HACCP. Any experience gained through placements, internships or early roles within food manufacturing, quality, technical or customer-facing environments would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills are essential, alongside the confidence to interact with a range of stakeholders including suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams. A proactive and solutions-focused mindset is key, with the curiosity and enthusiasm to learn quickly and develop within a dynamic business. A genuine passion for food and an interest in product quality and customer care will underpin success in the role.
