The Company
This ambitious business take pride in their delicious range of chilled and frozen products, supplying retail and food service customers across the UK, Europe and globally. Growing fast they are looking to add to their talented NPD team with a Senior Product Developer.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be joining a small NPD team and will be responsible for the end-to-end development of exciting new food products – ensuring each concept is not only innovative but commercially in line with product briefs and market insights.
This is a broad role where you’ll be working with the overseas R&D team to transform customer briefs into viable production possible products. You’ll take ownership of all stages in the product lifecycle, manage project critical paths and collaborate with technical, ops and procurement teams to ensure quality, innovation and compliance are achieved on the exceptional new products that will adorn the retailer shelves.
You’ll also be involved in packaging improvement, artwork sign off and post-launch reviews. A key part of your role will be forging lasting customer relationships to understand project aspirations and transform these briefs into on-trend and on-time concepts.
The Candidate
We are seeking an ambitious, creative and capable Product Developer looking to step up into broad role within a growing business. You’ll have experience ideally within chilled or frozen categories for branded or retail own-brand products. You’ll relish the chance to be involved in every facet of NPD and EPD. Ideally you will have a food degree too.
We’re also looking for exceptional communication skills, as you’ll be retailer facing, and managing projects with internal internation teams to launch products quickly and successfully.
You must have excellent communication and organisation skills coupled with the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and get started on new projects.
You will have an amazing understanding of food trends, ingredients, and seasonality which you can use to revamp recipes as well as conjure up new delights.
This is an exciting role where frequent travel will be involved across the UK, EU and to SE Asia.
