The Company
This established and respected food manufacturer paves the way in the chilled convenience food sector with their distinctive market presence. They are looking for a budding Packaging Developer who can bring creativity and technical prowess to their passionate team.

This is a hybrid role, with 3 days based on site, and frequent travel to sister sites and customers based in the South East. Therefore a willingness to travel and a full UK Driving licence is required.

The Role
Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and UK retail customers to create innovative new packaging concepts for both existing and new product ranges. You will build important relationships with packaging suppliers to create viable packaging concepts, taking into account cost, feasibility and sustainability. You will keep an eye on new trends, sustainable initiatives, technologies and materials that can create exciting concepts into robust and tangible commercial solutions that are fit for purpose and really stand out in the marketplace.

You will be involved in customer product submissions and present graphic mock-ups of new designs, communicating how these packaging solutions are hitting the brief in terms of cost, feasibility and creativity. Once approved, you will oversee factory trials to ensure production hurdles are anticipated and overcome so that new designs can be rolled out on time, on budget and on trend. You will also approve pack copy and artwork from a compliance perspective to ensure it is meeting quality, environmental and food safety standards.

The Person
For this role, we’re looking for a Graphic Design or Packaging Technology Graduate who has gained manufacturing industry experience within the world of FMCG. We are looking for someone with sound technical knowledge of varying materials i.e. paper, flexible plastics and films. Someone who has been involved in creation to launch projects of new packaging designs, incorporating sustainable initiatives.

Experience with Adobe Illustrator would be highly advantageous in this role. As well as exemplary organisation skills to drive projects forward, you will also have the ability to communicate effectively across different teams.
