The Company
With a mission to delight their key retail customers with exciting and innovative products, this chilled food manufacturer is looking for an ambitious Product Developer to join their creative product team to help deliver impressive products that consumers will love.
The role is 4 days on site and 1 day WFH.
The Role
- Developing products within the fast-moving chilled sector by responding to customer briefs and using your creative flair to drive exciting new concepts that reflect up and coming food trends.
- Developing new and existing recipes into commercially viable products, working closely with the NPD Chefs and assisting the Process team to scale up production trials to ensure quality is of the highest levels.
- Reviewing and approving all documentation for your products.
- Providing insightful, practical input to chef concepts, helping shape commercially viable products without compromising creativity.
- Supporting recipe creation, working with suppliers to source new ingredients, meeting commercial parameters and nutritional requirements, whilst being consistent with customer brand standards.
- Working closely with the commercial team, conducting range reviews and benchmarking ideas against competitors.
- Presenting internally and to customers, demonstrating good market and food trend awareness to achieve product approval.
The Person
- We are looking for an ambitious and creative NPD Technologist or Product Developer, ideally with a food related degree, who thrives in a fast-paced chilled food environment.
- Previous food manufacturing experience is required, ideally in a creative product area and chilled foods.
- Ability to adapt quickly, juggle multiple projects with ease, and demonstrate a strong passion for food and innovation.
- Hands-on, energetic, and organised, excited to contribute to a fast-moving and innovative team.
- Outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, and focus as this product sector is complex.
