The Company
This food brand is making waves in their category with exceptional growth over the past few years and still growing with fabulous new products in the pipeline destined for the retail shelves. They are now seeking a proactive Operations Manager to join their dedicated team and help them retain their reputation for market leading products for the health-conscious consumer.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations (who is based at HQ rather than site), you will take accountability for the packing site where you will lead, manage and motivate a small team. You’ll ensure the site is running to maximum efficiency and capacity whilst taking the time to evaluate where improvements can be made so that processes and procedures are robust enough for new, more complex products. As well as producing high quality products, your team will be a priority, and you’ll be providing them with support, guidance and training to maximise their potential. You’ll also support the Product, Planning and Supply Chain teams with new projects and initiatives.
The Person
This role would be great for a food manufacturing professional who has gained production and operational experience within the food industry, ideally within an SME or start-up environment. You will have worked at production manager level, now ready for a step up to increase your level of accountability and develop your career. You will thrive in a role where you need to be proactive and solutions driven, spotting where improvements would make the biggest impact and being able to contribute to the growth of the brand. An understanding of technical and quality standards is essential along with excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll also have superb people management skills and be able to implement KPIs to maximise personal performance as well as overall production efficiency. Experience of ERP systems (like Unleashed) would be beneficial, along with a high level of computer literacy.
