Due to their continued growth, they are now seeking a tenacious Product Development Manager to lead the development and launch of exciting new products.
Please note that this role will involve regular travel in the UK and Europe.
The Role
As the Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading the creation and launch of innovative products across retail and foodservice sectors. You will work closely with internal teams, including marketing, commercial, and NPD, to create new products that meet evolving customer needs and market trends.
You will conduct market and competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities, using insights from both the ambient market and consumer preferences to develop new product concepts. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop products that meet customer requirements, quality standards, and cost targets. You will also manage the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring that new products are successfully launched on time and meet market demands.
A key part of the role will involve engaging with customers directly, gaining insights to ensure that products are tailored to meet specific customer needs and stay ahead of the competition.
The Candidate
You will be an NPD Manager or a Senior NPD Technologist looking for a step up. Ideally, you will have a background in both retail and foodservice markets, with a strong understanding of current trends and product innovations.
A degree in Food Science, Product Development, or a related field is required, and you should have a deep understanding of product formulation, food safety standards, and production processes. Experience in managing multiple projects from concept to launch, along with strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills, will be key to your success in this role.
You should be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to develop products that meet both customer and consumer needs. A collaborative approach is essential as you will work across various departments and with external partners. Fluency in French would be an advantage, as the role will involve travel to production sites in both the UK and France.
