An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and progressive community childrens nursing team. The post sits in a well-established CCN team that delivers acute, continuing and complex health care within an integrated child health team. This challenging and rewarding role offers the opportunity to meet the needs of children, young people and their families within a multidisciplinary inter agency team framework.
We are looking for an enthusiastic forward thinking paediatric nurse with community and paediatric experience, you will be a highly motivated independent practitioner with sound evidence-based skills. The post holder will be expected to lead the epilepsy service in Winchester and to ensure children with epilepsy and their families are supported with highly specialised advice and education alongside other professionals. You will work alongside the Paediatric Epilepsy Lead in Basingstoke and be supported by the band 6 epilepsy nurse. You will be responsible for contributing to the on-going service development of paediatric epilepsy services across the footprint of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
To manage a caseload of children and young people with epilepsy, unscheduled care conditions, long term conditions, disabilities and life limiting conditions
Act as a lead and demonstrate a high level of expertise within the community childrens nursing service, providing specialist advice, education and support to patients and health care professionals

In partnership with colleagues from the multi-disciplinary team the post holder will continuously develop, implement and evaluate seamless community and epilepsy services across HHFT sites, ensuring safe, compassionate, high quality care in line with local and national strategic direction.
